A trip to Thailand is not complete without exploring the magical Phi Phi islands.

Phi-Phi Don and Phi-Phi Leh (collectively known as Ko Phi-Phi) are the darlings of the Andaman Coast with stunning bleached beaches and tropical jungle interiors.

Its the perfect place to frolic in the azures seas and party all night on the soft white sand.

Here are some fun facts about Phi Phi from the Just Honeymoons team:

Koh Phi Phi is made up of 6 islands. They lie 50km south-east of Phuket and are part of Had Nopparattara – Koh Phi Phi National Park which is home to an abundance of corals and marine life. There are limestone mountains with cliffs, caves, and long white sandy beaches.

Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Lee are the largest and most well-known islands. Phi Phi Don is 9.73 square kms, 8 kms in length and 3.5 kms wide. Phi Phi Lee is 2 kms. In total, the islands occupy 12.25 square kms.

Phi Phi officially has no motorized transport, there are however a pluthera of longtails waiting to take you to any beach or snorkel spot on the island, prices vary according to beach and time of day.

Transport on land is by foot or bicycle the centre of town is a maze of streets but most everything can be reached in less than a 10 min walk.

There are two seasons: the rainy season from May till December and the hot season from January till April.

Average temperature ranges between 17–37 °C. Average rainfall per year is about 2,231 millimetres, with the wettest month being July and the driest February.

Krabi Province is the Mecca of rock climbing in southern Thailand due to the tall limestone cliffs that are real natural landmarks of the province. Phi Phi Don Island may be lying 42km off the Krabi coast, but it has the same topography.
