About Meeru Island Resort – Maldives
A 55 minute speedboat transfer brings you to the island of Meerufenfushi and its sole occupant, Meeru Island Resort; a lovely, well-established, South African favorite.
Barefoot is the only way to go on this laid-back island and the chilled atmosphere makes for the ultimate relaxing holiday that caters for all tastes. But don’t think that there’s nothing going on, there’s an excellent house reef, beautiful lagoon and the most perfect stretches of beach; a golf driving range, putting green and 9 hole pitch and putt course, Euro Divers Scuba Centre and great evening entertainment. Stay on the beach or over-water with Jacuzzi options for both, and eat and drink at one of 4 restaurants – 2 a la carte – and 7 bars. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all guest rooms and most public areas.
The Duniye Spa, whether over-water or on land, is definitely worth a visit. If you are looking for quiet relaxation, the pool at the Pavilion Bar is strictly for adults only – no under 18’s allowed – but if its action you are after check the resort’s weekly program . Whether it’s a snorkeling excursion, a sunset cruise or an aerobics class there is sure to be something for everyone.

Located in a ‘U’ shaped block of 20 rooms near the Dhoni Bar pool, these modest and comfortable rooms offer a great place to recharge as you explore the island. They feature an indoor bathroom (not to be confused with a partial open-air bathroom), a privacy screen between rooms, and share a shaded area beneath the coconut palms and views of the natural tropical gardens.
